OurComparisonMethodology
How we gather data, calculate the VersusHub Score, and ensure fair comparisons.
1. Data Collection & API Aggregation
VersusHub is a data-first comparison engine. We collect information through verified sources, partner APIs, and public data records:
- Software/SaaS: Direct vendor verification, public pricing tiers, and aggregated review sentiments from leading directories.
- Financial Assets: Circulating supply, volume metrics, and real-time market values sourced from financial API datasets.
- Institutions (Universities): Official rankings, global acceptance records, and tuition registers.
- Cities & Places: Cost of living indices, weather/timezone parameters, and demographic registers.
2. The VersusHub Score Algorithm (0-100)
Each entity in our system receives a normalized VersusHub Score from 0 to 100. This score is calculated dynamically based on category-specific parameters:
Software & SaaS (Weights)
Value Model (free tier/trial options) — 20% | User Rating — 30% | Review Volume & Popularity — 30% | Price Competitiveness — 20%
Financial & Market Capitalization (Weights)
Asset Valuation & Rank — 50% | Liquidity & 24h Trading Volume — 30% | Multi-day Market Stability — 20%
Places & Demographics (Weights)
Human Development Index (HDI) — 40% | GDP/Economic Strength — 30% | Cost of Living Index (lower is better) — 30%
3. Update Frequency
Our databases are updated continuously. Financial metrics (stocks/cryptocurrency values) sync via API. Technical parameters and pricing structures for SaaS platforms undergo scheduled sweeps to capture changes within 14 days of publication by the respective vendors.
4. Editorial Independence
Our scoring system is fully mathematical and algorithmically driven. While companies can purchase sponsored listings for higher visibility (clearly marked as "Featured Partners"), their placement never influences their comparison score, review features, or editorial verdict.
